The Homepage Hero Gets a Uniform
The League's homepage hero now wears one branded deep-navy look across the whole calendar — the draft, the tag window, the trade deadline, the live Sunday slate. One card, a rotating cast of player cut-outs, a per-event accent color, and a border that only shows up when there's a clock running.
The Full Story
The League homepage hero used to be a grab-bag. The draft countdown looked like one thing, the tag window looked like another, the trade deadline did its own thing entirely, and the offseason just sort of shrugged. Every season milestone showed up in a slightly different outfit, like a team that never agreed on a jersey — same league, five different sweaters, no two countdowns built the same way.
Now every hero state runs through the same branded shell. The deep-navy card, the player cut-out fading in on the right, the big headline with a punchy accent word, the countdown chip, the green CTA button — it's one consistent system from the NFL Draft through rookie season, the franchise-tag window, the offseason auction, the trade deadline, the live Sunday slate, and the quiet stretches in between. Each milestone gets its own accent color keyed to where it sits on the calendar: blue for the preseason run-up, green for free agency, purple for the draft, navy for the regular season. The player on the card rotates so it never looks the same two days running.
And like the AFL hero, the border earns its keep: it only frames calendar-anchored events — the deadline you can't miss, the draft that's about to start. Ambient states wear the same card without the frame. One identity, every day of the season, finally reading from the same playbook.
