Bug Fix

Weekly Fixes & Polish (May 1-Jun 28)

37 bug fixes and style improvements across other, navigation & routing, homepage, rosters, and more.

The Full Story

This week's 37 bug fixes and polish improvements touched several areas of the site:

Other — The AFL franchise page now uses the full page width instead of being boxed into a narrow 960px column — the team hero banner stretches edge to edge and the trophy grid fits an extra badge per row, matching the width of every other page on the site. Under the hood, 35 pages across both leagues also shed a duplicate page-region wrapper, leaving exactly one main content landmark per page for cleaner screen-reader navigation.. The AFL franchise trophy-wall strip now reads like a proper scoreboard: the team's hardware count and league rank sit on the left while the "Complete trophy set" label and its gold-pip progress bar slide all the way to the right edge of the line, so the two halves no longer crowd each other in the middle.. Trophy title badges on the AFL franchise page now sit two-across on phones (all the way down to 320px) instead of stacking one-per-row, so you can scan a team's hardware without endless scrolling. Tablet and desktop layouts are unchanged.. The AFL franchise trophy-wall now tells you where a team stacks up. The compact summary strip carries a league-wide rank next to the trophy count ("3rd of 24," with a "T-" marker when teams are tied), and the gold-pip bar finally wears a label — "Complete trophy set" — so it's clear the pips track how many of the six title types a team has won, not raw trophy volume. Each trophy-case section now ranks the team within that category too, so you can see at a glance that a franchise is, say, 1st of 24 in Division Titles but only T-4th in Championships. Teams with an empty case (or an empty category) skip the rank entirely; no participation ribbons here.. The "Ask Roger" button on both leagues' rules chat now uses the same shared loading spinner as the rest of the site while Roger consults the rulebook — blue on TheLeague, red on AFL — so the wait looks consistent everywhere.. AFL's Owner Activity report now tracks waiver claims instead of auction wins — AFL is a keeper league with no auction, so the old "Auctions" column never reflected real activity.. The Final / Base / History tabs on the Draft Order page now actually switch views — they were silently dead when you arrived via in-app navigation. An unrecognized view in the URL now falls back to the Final order instead of rendering a blank page.. The AFL team formerly known as "Cock Gobbler" has reverted to its original name, The Show, after serving out its last-place D-League naming penalty — with the graffiti banner and logo restored across standings, rosters, and the rules chatbot.. AFL keepers now route to the real tool: the homepage keeper-deadline hero and the Keepers page both open the per-team Keeper Planner (Rosters → Planner) instead of a placeholder page that waited on an MFL feed AFL doesn't have. Each franchise card jumps straight into that team's planner..

Navigation & Routing — Simplified nav event listeners and player asset loading for cleaner, more reliable behavior across the app.. AFL header nav icons are now red by default and flip to navy on hover — matching AFL's red-forward brand identity. Labels stay red in both states.. The nav drawer footer no longer shows a "logged-in" team chip for people who never signed in. Visiting a page with a ?myteam= link used to make the footer claim you were logged in as that team — even though sign-in-only features (like Ask Roger) correctly knew you weren't. The footer now reflects your real signed-in session only, while still letting you browse another team's pages via ?myteam= as before..

Homepage — "Manage keepers" link on the AFL homepage now goes to the Keeper Planner on afl-fantasy.com instead of a broken internal page.. Removed the stray gap above the AFL homepage — the hero and Schefter Report now sit flush at the top of their columns instead of floating below an empty band.. Preseason homepage hero promos (tag window, team purchase deadline, release deadline) now use a darker, readable blue so the white pill label and countdown stand out instead of washing out.. Removed the same stray gap from The League homepage — both sites now have their hero and sidebar sitting flush at the top of their columns.. The homepage hero no longer surfaces a months-old feature as if it were news — a feature stops headlining after 3 weeks. Cut Watch now runs in two tiers (calm roster-planning from June, red-urgent in the final 30 days), and two new countdown heroes fill the old dead zones: Draft Season (post-auction, counting down to the NFL Draft) and Preseason (between roster cuts and Week 1) — instead of a generic What's New card.. The early Cut Watch hero now uses a readable blue accent instead of the near-invisible dark navy that matched the card background — the countdown number and 'AHEAD.' label are actually legible now.. The Champion Crowned homepage hero is now a full dark editorial card — the winning team's logo sits large in the background at 50% opacity, the champion gets a personalized message, and the whole thing wears the same deep-navy branded style as every other offseason hero.. All icons in the AFL homepage Explore section are now red — previously only the Playoffs icon was red because it was the only one with fill set explicitly; the rest inherited SVG's default black.. AFL homepage section titles (What's Next, standings, quick links, My Team) are now slightly larger — bumped from 0.75rem to 0.9rem to match the visual weight of UFC Sans Condensed, which reads smaller than Vend Sans at the same size.. The League homepage quick links icons now display in the correct accent color instead of silently falling back to black — SVG sprite icons render via fill, not color, so the fix mirrors the same correction applied to AFL.. The homepage "What's Next" timeline is now actually forward-looking — it no longer leads with a months-old completed event labeled "Most Recent." The slots now read Up Next / Coming Soon / Later (or Happening Now when an event is live), so you only ever see what's ahead..

Rosters — Cutting a player now works even when your offseason roster is over the in-season limit. We switched the cut to the same add/drop path MFL's own site uses for owners, which allows trimming an over-limit roster — so any owner can release a player during the cutdown. Cutting a player that was already dropped now shows a clear 'refresh your roster' message instead of a confusing permissions error. Also fixed AFL confirmation copy that wrongly referenced an "auction pool" (AFL drafts, it doesn't auction).. The Move-to-IR button now turns a confirmed green when the move succeeds instead of fading to a washed-out gray, so a completed move actually looks done. The success toast also adapts to dark mode now.. The AFL Keeper Planner now works after navigating to it from another page — previously the drag-and-drop, arrow buttons, and view tabs only worked on a fresh page load, and silently went dead if you clicked into the planner from elsewhere on the site. The roster view tabs (Roster/Analytics/Planner) had the same issue and are fixed too..

Standings — AFL conferences now carry their own American League (red) and National League (blue) logos across the conference standings headers, the division headers, and the homepage playoff and draft previews, and the Premier League / D-League marks now appear on the homepage tier standings preview too.. The Division / Playoff / All-Play tabs on the standings page now actually switch views (they were dead before), and the homepage "Full bracket" and "Full standings" links no longer land on a blank page..

Design System & Theming — AFL got its own identity: the top "Back to MFL" bar and footer now use a deep navy, the header nav icons are navy (turning red on hover), and homepage accents — section borders, icons, and links — are now AFL red instead of the borrowed blue. The League's look is unchanged.. League names are now consistent across the whole site: the league is 'The League' (not 'TheLeague') and the other is 'AFL' (not 'AFL Fantasy' or 'American Football League'). Fixed in the league registry, config files, hero copy, page descriptions, and published What's New articles.. AFL now has its own favicon in the browser tab — the AFL football mark replaces the generic placeholder. Includes the full favicon set (SVG, ICO, Apple Touch Icon, and PWA manifest) from the AFL design system, with AFL navy as the theme color.. AFL Fantasy headings (h1–h4) now render in UFC Sans Condensed — the same athletic, broadcast-style typeface used in hero elements — giving page and section titles a more intentional, editorial feel. Heading sizes were also scaled up slightly to preserve visual weight at the condensed width.. Conference section labels ("American League Playoff Standings", "Draft Preview") bumped from 0.75rem to 0.9rem for better readability alongside the new condensed headline font.. Submit buttons now spin consistently while they work: the Set Lineup submit (both leagues), the contract-declaration submit, and the Move-to-IR button all show the same shared loading spinner and stay disabled until the action finishes, so you get clear feedback and can't accidentally double-submit..

Calendar — Calendar event cards — both the "What's Next" cards on the homepage and the full League Calendar — now look like mini versions of the homepage hero: a deep-navy card with a per-category accent color (preseason blue, free agency green, draft purple, regular season navy) carried through the icon chip, status pill, glow wash, border, and a big countdown number, with the days-out clock only showing when there's actually time on the clock.. AFL pages now point at the correct MFL season. Set Lineup, the Keeper Planner, the Calendar, and sign-in all roll over to the new league year on June 1 — when the new AFL season actually goes live on MFL — instead of jumping ahead in February like The League does. Owners no longer hit empty rosters or a 'franchise could not be determined' login error in the spring gap before the new season exists..

Playoffs — The playoffs pages now respect the "reduce motion" accessibility setting — the live-score refresh countdown bar and the score flash/flicker effects hold still instead of animating for viewers who've asked their device to tone motion down..
