The Handshake Now Knows More Than One Thing
That handshake in the corner used to have exactly one job: tell you somebody offered you a trade. It now opens a Transaction Hub — trade offers and the waiver claims you have filed, plus, in a league that runs a priority order, your live spot in it. A number on the handshake still means somebody is waiting on you. A quiet dot means there is something in there worth a look.
The Full Story
First, so nobody goes hunting for the wrong thing: it is this one, — the little handshake in the top bar, next to the search glass. Not a bell. It has been sitting up there for months doing one thing. Somebody offers you a trade, it lights up red, you go look. Useful, and also a strange amount of real estate for a single notification.
So it got more rooms. Tap it now and you land on a hub: Trade Offers and Waiver Claims, each with its own count, each one tap deep — plus Waiver Priority in the leagues that actually have one. Trade offers work exactly as they did — accept, reject, dismiss, open it in the Trade Builder to check the cap damage before you say yes.
Waiver Claims shows what you have in, in the order MyFantasyLeague will actually process it — who you are adding, who you are dropping for him, what you bid. It is read-only on purpose. Deleting a claim or swapping the drop still lives on Free Agents, next to the roster and the search you need to do either one, and there is a link straight there at the bottom of the screen. This is the answer to "wait, did I actually put that claim in" at 11pm on a Tuesday, which is a different question from "let me redo my whole board".
Waiver Priority shows up in the AFL, and not in The League, and that is a feature rather than an oversight. The hub asks MyFantasyLeague which waiver system your league runs and believes the answer. The AFL runs rolling priority, so it gets the screen: the live order, read the moment you open it rather than off a nightly sync, your row badged, renumbered within your own conference — because sitting 13th league-wide while being first in the National is not 13th at anything. The League runs blind bidding with ties broken first come first served, so there is no order to stand in. MyFantasyLeague will still hand out a waiver number for it, which is exactly the trap: it is a default nobody set and nothing reads, and putting it on screen would have invented a queue for sixteen owners. If the commissioner ever flips that setting, the screen appears on its own.
One deliberate restraint: the red number on the handshake still counts trade offers and nothing else. A trade is somebody waiting on you. A claim you filed yourself is not, so it gets a small quiet dot instead — the hub has something in it, no one is holding a stopwatch. Turning every claim into a red badge is how the handshake stops meaning anything.
