The Notifications command center on The League, headed "Choose your alerts" and reading "4 of 14 on". The "Your team" group is expanded with Turn all on beside it: Trade offers, Lineup problems before kickoff and League deadlines are switched on and badged ON BY DEFAULT, and News on your players is switched off. The Owners' Poll group begins below.

Fourteen Ways To Be Told, And You Pick

The group chat now gets one automated post a day. Everything else moved to your phone — trade offers, a broken lineup before kickoff, injuries to your guys, the rumor mill, your final score. Fourteen alert types, four groups, four on by default, and every single one is a switch you own.

The Full Story

The league had a volume problem, and it was us. Six bots with something to say and one group chat to say it in is how a chat gets muted, and a muted chat is worse than a quiet one — the deadline reminder that actually mattered went into the same silence as the fourth waiver-claim announcement of the afternoon.

So the chat is now rationed. One automated post a day, on a fixed weekly calendar, and that's the whole budget. Anything a human types is exempt, and so is Roger answering a rules question or reminding you about a deadline — those were never the problem. Everything else moved somewhere you can actually control it.

That somewhere is Notifications, and it is now a proper command center. Fourteen alert types in four groups: things waiting on your team, the Owners' Poll, league news, and game day. Four are on by default — a trade offer, a broken starting lineup while there's still time to fix it, a league deadline, and where the room ranked you. Those four are the ones that cost you something if you miss them. The other ten are off, sitting there, waiting for you to decide you want them.

The new arrivals are worth a look. News on your players watches the injury report and tells you when a status changes on someone you actually roster — including when a guy is CLEARED, which is the version you want on a Saturday when you're deciding whether to start him. Your final score lands when your matchup is genuinely over, per matchup, so a Sunday-only week doesn't make you wait on somebody else's Monday-night kicker. And close-game swings only fires once the early window is done and the lead actually changes hands — because a lead change at 10:30 in the morning, with eleven starters yet to play, is not a result. It's noise, and we're done sending noise.

Turn on everything. Turn on nothing. Turn on the firehose — Every transaction is right there and it is genuinely a firehose, dozens some weeks, and if that's your idea of a good time nobody here is going to stop you. The point is that it's your call now instead of ours.
